Sell and rehome responsibly.

1. Be truthful and transparent

• Use recent photographs and videos of the dog being advertised.
• State the correct age, sex, breed or crossbreed, location and price.
• Do not conceal known material health, behavioural, ownership or welfare information.
• Do not claim tests, vaccinations, pedigree status, licences or registrations you cannot substantiate.

2. Put welfare before the sale

The dog’s welfare must take priority over speed, convenience or price. Sellers should consider whether a prospective home appears suitable and should not knowingly place a dog into circumstances presenting an obvious welfare concern.

3. Puppies and their mother

Where appropriate and lawful, prospective owners should be able to see a puppy in the environment where it was raised and with its biological mother. Sellers must not present an unrelated dog as the mother or otherwise mislead buyers about a puppy’s origin.

4. Health records and identification

• Provide accurate vaccination, worming, flea-treatment and veterinary information.
• Provide microchip information where required and cooperate with lawful transfer requirements.
• Provide relevant breed-health testing information where it is claimed or materially relevant.
• Do not alter, forge or misrepresent veterinary, pedigree, microchip, licence or test records.

5. Licensing and commercial activity

Users carrying on activity requiring a licence, registration or other legal permission must hold the required authorisation and provide accurate details when requested by ePuP or where disclosure is legally required.

Commercial activity must not be deliberately disguised as casual or private rehoming in order to avoid legal requirements or marketplace controls.

6. Communicate responsibly

• Answer reasonable buyer questions honestly.
• Do not harass, intimidate or pressure a buyer into immediate payment or collection.
• Do not claim that ePuP guarantees a private transaction unless ePuP expressly provides that service.
• Do not attempt to bypass ePuP safety or moderation controls.

7. Safe meetings and handover

Sellers should permit reasonable in-person checks where appropriate, provide the agreed records at handover, and ensure the dog is fit to travel and transferred safely.

8. Written records

A clear written receipt or agreement should identify the parties, the dog, the price, microchip information where applicable and any material terms agreed between the parties.

9. ePuP verification and checks

ePuP may request identity, telephone, business, licence or other information to support trust and marketplace safety. Sellers must not submit false, altered or misleading verification information.

10. Breaches of these standards

Breaches may result in advert rejection or removal, reduced marketplace visibility, requests for further evidence, feature restrictions, account suspension or termination, and other action permitted by the Terms and applicable law.
